It is my privilege to welcome you to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College & Hospital, Sangli. As an institution committed to excellence in medical education, patient care, and community-oriented service, we take pride in shaping future healthcare professionals who are clinically competent, ethically grounded, and socially responsible. Our parent University is NAAC accredited with an A++ grade (CGPA 3.60, 2024), reflecting its commitment to quality education, academic rigour, and continuous improvement. We, at the constituent medical college, uphold the same standards of excellence in all our academic and clinical endeavours.
Our academic ecosystem continues to evolve in response to the changing landscape of medical education. Facilities such as our state-of-the-art simulation and skills laboratory, the green and serene 42-acre campus, and a robust teaching hospital support a learning environment that is both modern and nurturing. The college admits 250 undergraduate (MBBS) students and 119 postgraduate students annually, ensuring a vibrant academic atmosphere enriched by diversity and active learning.
The attached teaching hospital, with its 950-bed capacity and NABL accreditation (2022), offers comprehensive speciality and super-speciality services at affordable costs, actively engaging in major National Health Programmes to reinforce our commitment to public health and community welfare.
We are also enriched by student-led initiatives that enhance their personal and professional development. Our undergraduate social service body, JYOT, contributes significantly to community outreach, helping students cultivate empathy, leadership, and a sense of responsibility towards the underserved. The annual student magazine Polaris continues to showcase the creativity and intellectual spirit of our learners. Additionally, the annual Youth Research Conference reflects our long-term commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and encouraging undergraduate students to participate in meaningful research and scholarly activity.
